How ESTRING Can Help
Important information 4 you
The more information you have, the better. Here are a few things you may find helpful to know about ESTRING® (estradiol vaginal ring).
Give ESTRING time to work
Only a healthcare provider can tell you if ESTRING is right for you. If you start using ESTRING, be patient. It’s important that you give it at least 2 to 3 weeks to work. Each ESTRING ring is used for 90 days. After 90 days, ESTRING should be taken out. Your healthcare provider will tell you if it is okay to stay with treatment. If so, another ESTRING ring may be used.
What else should I know about ESTRING?
ESTRING is generally well tolerated. However, ESTRING may cause some side effects.
Once ESTRING is inserted, there may be an increase of secretion in the vagina. The secretion should feel like what you felt prior to menopause. This is a sign that ESTRING is working. The discharge should not have a bad smell. If it smells bad and you have vaginal itching or discomfort, you should tell your healthcare provider immediately.
