Menopause and You
ESTRING® (estradiol vaginal ring) is an estrogen indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe urogenital symptoms due to postmenopausal atrophy of the vagina (such as dryness, burning, pruritus and dyspareunia) and/or the lower urinary tract (urinary urgency and dysuria).
Below is a brief overview of menopause.
About menopause
Estrogen is a female hormone. As you get older, you go through menopause. As a result, your body does not make as much estrogen. Lower levels of estrogen can cause changes in your body, such as atrophy (a-truh-fee) of the vagina and lower urinary tract. Atrophy is the thinning of these tissues. These changes typically start during and may continue after menopause.
Postmenopause—life after menopause.
